Weekly Update Spetember 12-16 2011

Notes for the week of September 12th.

Pick Up/Drop Off

First of all, thank you so much for your patience while we’ve been working out the kinks in some of our new systems. Sometimes we just can’t know what quirks will pop up until we try it all out. Here are some changes we are making to address some of the problems.

If you are dropping off, please pull all the way up to Patti and let her and the teachers help your child from the car. It’s important that the teachers are very clear on which children they are responsible for and if you get out of the car and deliver, there may be confusion especially if you pass behind me (Patti) on your way.
If you are taking your child in, it’s very important that you use the computers in the facility to check them in. I would like to reserve the curbside check in for children that we have direct responsibility.
I will be blocking off the 1st 3 spaces as drop off overflow, I’ve noticed that the line of cars for drop off block them and make it difficult for parents to leave.
Starting Monday, September 19th, the gate currently used to access the overflow parking in the back of the school will be locked, the gate at the end of Rincon should be used from that date. The staff of WVCS is concerned about the traffic moving in that area being a safety hazard to their students and the original traffic plan for the City of Campbell plan requires the use of the gate at the west end of Rincon.
Improvements to the security and predestrian traffic from the rear of the building including access to a check in computer via the playground are being planned and will be implemented incrementally over the next few months, again we appreciate your understanding and patience through this time.

Backpack Decorations

We were inspired by the creative embellishment our friend My-Lan added to her backpack. Remember, these are yours to keep so have a blast and bring your decorated backpacks to school the week of September 19th and show them off!
