Weekly Update September 5th

Welcome, or Welcome Back!

What a way to start the year! The staff is so happy to be back to full classrooms and shining, happy kids!

If you missed the Back to School Nights, be sure to stop by the office and get the information packet and chat with Patti about the new parking plan and drop off procedures.

Remember! No school on Monday as we observe Labor Day.

Weekly Preschool Update for the Week of 9/6/11

PRESCHOOL

Theme:The theme for this week is the letter ‘Oo’. ‘Oo’ is for:

El oso-bear
El óvalo-oval
Ocho-eight
La oruga-caterpillar
La olla-cooking pot
La oveja-sheep
Otro/otra-other or another
Octubre-October
Oler-to smell
Olor-smell

Math:

Students will be counting ‘osos’.
They will also sort ‘osos’ (bears) by color or size: grande, mediano y pequeño (large, medium and small).

Science/Nutrition:

Students will use their sense of smell to identify oregano and will make ‘ensalada de pepino con oregano’ (cucumber salad with oregano)
Students will talk about bears hibernating and getting ready for winter.
