Theme: The themes this week will be based on the letter ‘Vv’. ‘V’ is for:

Las verduras-vegetables

La vaca-cow

Reading Readiness Focus:

This week students will focus on the letter ‘Vv’, which in Spanish sounds the same as the ‘b’ sound in English.

 

  • M. Dora’s class will identify and match lower case to capital and isolate its sound.
  • M.Bertha’s class will be working on printing capital and lower case ‘Vv’ in addition to the above.

 

Math:

Students will work on number sense with #4 at the concrete level; that is, the children will do different activities to develop a sense of number 4 and its different combinations (2+2, 1+3, 0+4, 1+1+1+1) This is done orally and with math manipulatives only.

 

Science and Nutrition:

  • Students will make salad with different vegetables (‘verduras’).
  • Students will make a volcano (un volcán)
