I was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, where I completed high school and three years of college. In 1989 I traveled to the USA and began working with children as a nanny. My work ethics and obvious love for these children earned me the love and trust of the families I was working with.
Watching the children learn and grown under my tutelage and feeling the appreciation and encouragement from the parents, I felt motivated to learn more about young children. After working as a nanny for 14 years, I decided to go to school and further my studies in child development at Chabot
College. I also started studying English at San Jose City College. I took two years of courses in child development and acquired my AA certificate. Upon Claudia’s request I also took courses to become a supervisor at Centro Armonia.
I have been at Centro Armonia since its very first day and have worked closely with Claudia ever since, getting to know what is important to her as owner and director of the school, and wholeheartedly supporting and maintaining her vision for the school. Centro has always been the kind of workplace that I love being a part of, where people are treated with respect and dignity. I love teaching children, making a difference in their lives and supporting their emotional development. I want to help them feel the enthusiasm and fun of learning. I have always been a very patient and calm person and I know these qualities makes children feel safe and at ease. I love sharing with them the enthusiasm and joy of singing, dancing, sports and exercise, as I am someone who needs to be in constant motion. In my free time I enjoy dancing, jogging and the movies.
