I came to this country 23 years ago from Guadalajara, Mexico. I have been working at Centro Armonia since December, 2006. Before that I worked as a
teacher assistant at Mariano Castro Elementary School in the Mountain View School District. I have studied Child Development at Foothill College, De Anza College and Mission College.
I love working with children, teaching in several areas like reading and math. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to watch my students beg
in to read and write in Spanish. The capacity that children have to learn never ceases to amaze me. I love that Centro Armonia uses Positive Discipline with the kids. There are so many ways to encourage them in a positive, loving way. One of the most important things that I can do in my classroom is to model the behavior that I want from my students. Children learn more from what they see us doing than from what we tell them to do. My students know that good manners are important. I love to work at Centro Armonia because Claudia treats her staff the way she expects us to treat the children, with respect and dignity.
I come from a family of musicians. We really enjoy music. Every person in my family plays a musical instrument; however, one of my favorite things to do is to choreograph and learn dances with my students. I love the energy and joy that they sing and dance with in my classroom. Please come by
my classroom and see my students! I am very grateful to be part of Centro Armonia Preschool.
